The German striker has been at Hamburg on a permanent contract since 2014 following a loan spell from Hertha Berlin.

The former Germany Under-21 international was able to make only five starts for Hamburg in the Bundesliga last season, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.

Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to speculation linking the club with a move for Lasogga in the summer transfer window.

Some are concerned that the 25-year-old is being lined up as a replacement for Chris Wood, who has been linked with moves away from Elland Road this summer.

According to The Sun, Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing Wood from Leeds this summer.

The Mirror has credited Stoke City, Swansea City and Southampton with interest in the New Zealand international, who is reportedly valued at £20 million by Leeds.
