Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the performance of George Honeyman for Sunderland against Bury on Thursday evening.
Honeyman featured for Sunderland in the first round of the EFL Cup against Bury away from home at the Energy Check Stadium.
The 22-year-old midfielder started the tie for the Black Cats and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Championship club won 1-0.
It was Honeyman who scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute, lifting the ball over Bury goalkeeper Joe Murphy.
Everton goalkeeper Pickford was following the game, and the 23-year-old Englishman was impressed with the performance of Honeyman.
The former England Under-21 international goalkeeper joined Premier League club Everton from Championship side Sunderland earlier this summer for a transfer fee stated on the Toffees’ official website to be worth £30 million.
Sunderland fans have also taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Honeyman against Bury.
