Perez moved to Newcastle back in 2014, and he has now accumulated over 100 appearances for the Magpies.
Yet there are still some doubts over Perez’s consistency, and he is yet to fully secure a place in Newcastle’s team.
And the Spanish striker, who stuck with Newcastle are relegation, admits that he has experienced the highs and lows since moving to St. James’ Park.
Perez said: “This is my fourth season here at Newcastle United.
“There’s been a lot of great moments and some that weren’t as good as I would have liked.
“But that’s football and now I look forward to my time here and the season ahead.”
Perez is currently facing a fight to keep hold of his place in Newcastle’s team for the upcoming campaign.
The 24-year-old made 36 league appearances in the Championship last term, scoring nine times and claiming seven assists.
But Perez is now battling with Siem De Jong to earn a place in Newcastle’s starting line-up on opening day.
Newcastle’s first game upon their return to the Premier League comes against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at St. James’ Park.
