Several Premier League clubs are set to miss out on Senegal striker Moussa Konate with French club Amiens closing in on his signing, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club

Konate has been a long-term target for a number of clubs in England after impressing for club and country over the last few years.

The 24-year-old has scored 50 goals in 115 games for Swiss side FC Sion since joining the club from Kuban Krasnodar in 2014.

Konate has earned himself a reputation as one of the most promising young strikers in Europe and Hull City made a bid for his services last summer after winning promotion to the Premier League.

West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City have also been credited with an interest in Konate in the past, but it looks like the player could be moving to France.

Konate is entering the final year of his contract at Sion and the club are reluctantly listening to offers for the forward rather than risk allowing him to run down his contract and leave for nothing next summer.

Ligue 1 new boys Amiens are looking to bolster their strikeforce before the close of the window and they have agreed a fee with Sion for Konate.

Konate has now been given permission to hold talks with Amiens and they are hoping to tie up his signature as soon as possible in case any of his English suitors try to hijack the move.
