Pundit warns Tottenham could beat Newcastle by a cricket score.

Newcastle United host Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday in a repeat of the Magpies' last Premier League game.

The home side won that encounter 5-1, a match which cost Tottenham the chance to finish above rivals Arsenal.

Ahead of this weekend's match, pundit Paul Merson has predicted the result, and he says he believes Tottenham will get revenge.

Merson believes it won't be a hard fought win, but an easy one for Tottenham, warning they could totally embarrass Newcastle.

The pundit predicts a 3-0 win for Tottenham, and believes it could be even higher.

He told SkySports: "I can see this whole affair at Newcastle coming to an end soon if Rafa continues not to be backed in the transfer market. They haven't spent enough and if it wasn't for the fans I'd tip them to go down.

"Spurs are as good as anybody in the league and against a Newcastle side, who will have to attack in front of their own fans, this could be a cricket score."

It has been a difficult transfer market for both clubs, but Newcastle have managed to add players, while Tottenham have not signed anybody.

This is a big game for Newcastle as it is their first back in the Premier League after their shock relegation in 2015/16.

Starting it off with a surprise win against Tottenham would be highly impressive, although Merson clearly does not fancy their chances whatsoever.
