Wolverhampton Wanderers should move for Jordan Rhodes over Sam Gallagher

Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo looks on during the pre-season friendly match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City at Molineux on July 29, 2017 in Wolverhampton, England.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are said to be considering making a move for Sheffield Wednesday forward Jordan Rhodes.

According to the Derby Telegraph, Jordan Rhodes is on Wolverhampton Wanderers' radar this summer.

Rhodes is seen as an alternative to Southampton striker Sam Gallagher for Wolves.

And it may just be that Nuno’s side would be better off bringing Rhodes to Molineux than Gallagher.

While the Southampton forward is certainly a very bright prospect, he simply doesn’t boast the same scoring record as Rhodes does at Championship level.

Gallagher netted 11 times in the second tier for Blackburn Rovers last season, but Rhodes almost guarantees goals at this level.

Although the Scottish international has endured a miserable time since moving to Sheffield Wednesday, he remains a feared marksman in the Championship.

Rhodes has netted over 20 goals over the course of a season in the Championship on three separate occasions in his career, and would surely be a brilliant addition to Wolves.

And as Nuno’s men go for promotion, bringing in a player of Rhodes’ quality may be a smarter move than bringing in Gallagher, who still has developing to do before he can be considered the finished article.
