Tottenham Hotspur are said to be ready to make a move for the Lazio winger.

According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to step up their bid for Keita Balde Diao, and if Mauricio Pochettino’s side were able to bring him to North London it would surely silence any critics.

Tottenham have been accused of showing a lack of ambition throughout the transfer window to date.

Pochettino’s side have sold Kyle Walker and are the only Premier League team yet to make an addition.

Yet Balde Diao’s arrival at Spurs would surely end all questions over whether they are serious about mounting a title challenge this season.

Balde Diao is regarded as one of the most exciting attacking talents in Italian football, after enjoying a brilliant campaign with Lazio last term.

The Senegalese winger contributed 16 goals and five assists in Serie A last term, with his blistering pace proving to be a major threat.

If Balde Diao’s was to arrive at Spurs, he would give Pochettino arguably the Premier League’s best collection of attackers to pick from.

And if Spurs can get a deal for the 22-year-old over the line, it would seriously help to calm supporters' frustrations, after a slow transfer window so far.
