Bosnian left-back Sead Kolasinac delivered an assured performance on his Arsenal debut which ended with him lifting a trophy.
Kolasinac signed for the Gunners earlier this summer on a free transfer from Schalke and already looks like a bargain.
He appears to be an upgrade on Nacho Monreal at left-back, and other Premier League teams could rue their failure to sign him.
Chief among these could be Liverpool, whose problems at the position have been evident for the past few seasons.
Alberto Moreno has struggled to find any sort of positive consistency, and was displaced from the team by James Milner.
Liverpool missed out on Kolasinac on a free transfer and instead settled for signing Scotland defender Andy Robertson from Hull City.
Kolasinac looks to be an inspired signing for Arsenal at this very early stage, and has a strong physique to suggest he will have no problems adjusting to English football.
He scored the equalising goal for Arsenal at Wembley against Chelsea which set up their Community Shield penalty shoot out victory.
Liverpool fans were left perplexed by his performance yesterday at how they missed out on his signature.
Unlike Arsenal, the Reds this season have Champions League football, and a manager with considerable Bundesliga experience, who should have given them the edge over Arsenal for Kolasinac.

On Sead Kolasinac's performance today, have no idea why Jurgen Klopp wasn't in for him.— Jack Lusby (@jacklusby_) August 6, 2017
Really wonder why Klopp didn't go for Kolašinac. Looks like a solid left back.— - (@AnfieldRd96) August 6, 2017
The fact Liverpool didn't go for kolasinac makes me feel a bit sick— Matt Hayden (@Matt_Hayden1) August 6, 2017
