The Tottenham Hotspur youngster got another run out this weekend and he did not disappoint.
Tottenham Hotspur completed their pre-season preparations with a 2-0 victory against Italian side Juventus on Saturday, with goals from Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen enough to seal the win.
The triumph was not without its drawbacks, with first-choice right-back Kieran Trippier taken off injured in the first half. But assuming the former Burnley man is fit for the start of the season it will have been a job well done.
Along with the experienced Tottenham players on show, manager Mauricio Pochettino again gave chances to some of the second string, with Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Kyle Walker-Peters and Anthony Georgiou all getting the chance to impress.
Georgiou looked sharp in the recent defeat to AS Roma and he came off the bench against Juventus for the last 24 minutes, replacing the much maligned Moussa Sissoko.
The 20-year-old left-sided player has pace to burn and the confidence to excel as a full-back, a wing-back or an out-and-out winger if required.
While Oakley-Boothe shone earlier this summer, it could be argued that his Tottenham teammate Georgiou has been the club's breakout pre-season star.
After the match against the Serie A giants, we took to Twitter to see what Tottenham fans thought of the youngster's performance and you can find a selection of responses below:
Looked very good and put in a few good crosses, very pacey and dangerous at times.— N'Somebody (@TheTHFC) August 5, 2017
#thfc Anthony Georgiou could be that missing pacy player we need in our squad. Will definitely prove to be useful in such a long season.— Dier Straits (@Dierbium) August 5, 2017
I quite like this Georgiou fella, got poise and pace. Not afraid to attack #thfc— Morten Øgård✌ (@MortenOgard) August 5, 2017
