Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a summer swoop for the Frenchman.
According to the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia this summer after the 24-year-old asked to leave the San Siro.
The latest claim follows a report from Gazzetta dello Sport that Kondogbia sees his future elsewhere, and he becomes the latest in a long line of midfielders linked with a move to Spurs in the current transfer window.
Tottenham fans have watched with growing concern as their top-four rivals have significantly strengthened their squads only for Spurs to remain worryingly quiet.
While Mauricio Pochettino's side were never going to be drawn into bidding wars for average players in what has become the craziest of transfer windows, there is no doubt they need to sign some reinforcements to maintain their recent momentum and challenge both domestically and in Europe.
Kondogbia would be a fine addition, with the player yet to reach his peak and offering more quality in the centre of the field.
The five-time French international has featured 56 times for Inter and has previously played for AS Monaco, Sevilla and RC Lens.
The fact that he has asked for a transfer means he could be a slightly cheaper alternative for Tottenham, who also need another striker, an additional winger and perhaps another right-back, especially if Kieran Trippier's injury is worse than hoped.
There is still time for Tottenham to get some deals over the line, but that may not happen before the new season kicks off in just a few days.
