Brighton & Hove Albion want the Leeds United striker it seems.
Brighton & Hove Albion are weighing up a £12 million bid for Leeds United striker Chris Wood, according to The Sun.
The 25-year-old is one of the Championship's finest hitmen after scoring 27 times en route to winning the division's Golden Boot award last season.
And The Sun claims that Seagulls boss Chris Hughton is a fan and is plotting a club-record move for the New Zealand marksman.
But the report goes on to add that £12 million might not be enough to tempt Leeds who, according to The Mirror last month, slapped a £20 million asking price on their prized asset.
The Whites kick off their Championship season this afternoon and such speculation can have no benefit to Leeds or Wood whatsoever, just hours before he spearheads their attack.
But head coach Thomas Chrisitiansen will be hoping that the big man can put such rumours to the back of his mind and focus on firing United to an opening-day victory.
