Mark Noble suggests new West Ham signing Marko Arnautovic has not lived up to his reputation

Mark Noble of West Ham United looks on during a Pre Season Friendly between Manchester City and West Ham United at the Laugardalsvollur stadium on August 4, 2017 in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The West Ham United captain explained how his new teammate has settled in quickly, despite hearing criticisms regarding his off-pitch behaviour.

Hammers skipper Mark Noble sat down to speak with the club's official website, and raved about the transfer business already completed by Slaven Bilic this summer, singling out Marko Arnautovic for particular praise.

The Austrian made the move to West Ham from Stoke City, for a fee believed to be in the region of £24 million, and the jury is still very much out on whether he will live up to that hefty price-tag.

Bilic will be hoping that the 28-year-old forward, along with Javier Hernandez, Joe Hart and Pablo Zabaleta, will help fire his Hammers side to a place inside the top seven of the Premier League table this season.

And Noble explained how impressed he has been with Arnautovic since he moved to east London, despite hearing criticisms regarding his attitude away from football, when speaking to WHUFC.com:

"We all know the ability that Marko has got and he’s come in and shown it straight away. The stuff that gets said about Marko off the pitch, from what I’ve seen over the past week or two, he has been fantastic, gelled with the lads straight away and hasn’t been any problem, so I can see the West Ham fans really liking a player like him. I’m hoping he does really well for us."

West Ham kick off their Premier League campaign away at Manchester United this time next week. They then face another two away trips to Southampton and Newcastle United respectively, before their first home game of the season against Huddersfield on September 11th.

And all of the club's new signings will have to fly out of the blocks, if the Hammers are to make a successful start to their campaign.
