Liverpool have reportedly turned their attention to the Rennes midfielder.
According to a recent report from Frech publication Le Telegram, Liverpool have turned their attention to Rennes player Benjamin Andre this summer, and the 27-year-old's name certainly appears to have come out of nowhere.
The former France under-21 international only recently put pen to paper on a new deal in his homeland, ensuring he is contracted to Rennes until the summer of 2022.
As a result, talk of a £15million raid looks somewhat wide of the mark unless Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is about to throw a major curve ball.
Andre has played 100 matches for the Ligue 1 side, scoring two goals and providing five assists in the process. He previously played for Ajaccio, for whom he found the net 12 times and set up 15 goals in 202 appearances.
He is clearly a player who sticks around for a while, rather than moving from club to club without setting up home, and if he did move to Liverpool one would assume it would - if things went according to plan - be the last big move of his career.
The problem is, Andre would be a somewhat underwhelming alternative to Naby Keita, and while a £15million swoop could be a bargain in the current this may be little more than paper talk.
That is certainly the feeling of some Liverpool fans and below you can read a selection of what we found on Twitter after the news initially broke:
