The 27-year-old winger started the game and played for 86 minutes, as Slaven Bilic’s side suffered a 3-0 defeat in Iceland.

Ayew joined West Ham from Premier League rivals Swansea City in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £20 million.

The former Marseille star had injury issues last season and was able to make only 16 starts in the Premier League, scoring six goals and providing three assists in the process.

The Ghana international is a good player, and the winger could prove to be an important figure for West Ham this season.
