Despite the loss, Crystal Palace fans were impressed with Manchester United loanee Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
Crystal Palace’s first Premier League game of the season could not have gone much worse, but debutant Timothy Fosu-Mensah showed promise.
Fosu-Mensah moved to Manchester United on loan just days earlier and was thrown straight into Frank de Boer’s starting XI.

The talented Dutch defender could not stop his team losing 3-0 at home to Huddersfield Town, but he did prevent the scoreline becoming even more embarrassing.
Fosu-Mensah showed his talent and speed with a superb last ditch tackle on Steve Mounie, who was closing in to complete a hat-trick.

Mounie had begun with at least a five yard head start on the defender, whose determination even at 3-0 down said a lot about his desire to become a success at Palace.
Up next is a very difficult trip to Liverpool for the Eagles, and more heroics may be required from Fosu-Mensah to prevent a similar embarrassment.
He did enough to show he deserves another opportunity in Palace’s team, on a day where there were very few bright spots at all for De Boer’s side.
Here is a look at how Crystal Palace fans reacted on Twitter to Fosu-Mensah’s debut…
