Tottenham Hotspur have not been able to agree a new contract with Toby Alderweireld yet.

Tottenham Hotspur fans are starting to become concerned about Toby Alderweireld’s contractual situation.

Tottenham have been said to be confident at tying the Belgian centre-back down to a new deal by the Daily Mirror.

However, there seems to have been no progress between Spurs and Alderweireld regarding contract talks.

Alderweireld has just two-years left on his current deal with the North London club, which has caused some concern that he could leave next summer.

Tottenham have done a good job at tying down their key players to long-term deals but sorting Alderweireld’s future out appears to be more problematic than first thought.

Alderweireld is currently on £50,000-a-week at Spurs, as per the Daily Mirror, and will earn a significant pay rise when he does pen a new deal.

Tottenham will be desperate not to lose Alderweireld, as he has developed a reputation as one of the Premier League’s finest defenders in recent years.
