Newcastle United have been linked with a hugely exciting move for Atletico Madrid's Angel Correa.

Newcastle United are now in talks to sign Angel Correa from Atletico Madrid, according to the Chronicle, and his potential arrival at St. James’ Park would be hugely exciting.

Correa is regarded as one of the top attacking talents in La Liga, even though he is yet to fulfil his potential.

There was a time when Correa was lined up by Barcelona to be Lionel Messi’s replacement, according to The Sun.

Although Correa has never quite shown the ability to replace Messi yet, he still looks a supreme talent.

Correa was handed 10 starts in La Liga last term, and he generally impressed, scoring four goals over the course of the campaign.

If the 22-year-old was to move to Newcastle, he would surely be Rafael Benitez’s side’s most exciting addition of the summer.

Newcastle have made five new additions in the transfer window so far, but Correa would be the highest profile player brought to St. James’ Park.

And although there is still some way to go before Benitez’s side get a deal secured for the Argentine forward, the rumours that Newcastle are in discussions to sign Correa should set pulses races on Tyneside.
