Merino made his second Newcastle United appearance on Wednesday afternoon.
Newcastle United's latest summer recruit made his second cameo appearance for Rafa Benitez's side in Wolfsburg on Wednesday afternoon.
The Spanish midfielder, who has arrived on loan from Wolfsburg's Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund, came on for the final 12 minutes as the Magpies recorded a 3-1 win.

Having made his debut in Saturday's defeat to Mainz, some Newcastle fans had already gotten a brief glimpse of Merino in action.
And it hasn't taken much longer for them to become fully bowled over by the 21-year-old's talent, with one Twitter user describing him as "world class", after he won back possession inside his own box and pinged a 40-yard pass with the outside of his left boot.
Here's what the rest of them are saying about the Newcastle new boy:
Manquillo and Merino impressive, Shelvey superb as always. Great win, on to the last one ⚫⚪ #NUFC— Tim Croft (@TimCro25) 2 August 2017

Gonna be a right hoot having Manquillo, Merino and Shelvey in the same team seeing who can do the best Hollywood pass from 50 yards— paddy (@PaddyHillNUFC) 2 August 2017
And if he continues in this vein, the Magpies will hope that milestone is reached before other clubs catch on.
