Everton fans believe that Kieran Dowell's move to Nottingham Forest proves Swansea City's Gylfi Sigurdsson is about to join.

Everton fans believe that Kieran Dowell’s move to Nottingham Forest is a sign that they have wrapped up a deal for Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Everton have sanctioned a deal which will see Dowell leave Goodison Park to join Forest for the season.

The youngster has been on the fringes of the Toffees’ first-team, but it seems that Ronald Koeman has decided that Dowell’s development would be better served going out on loan.

And Everton fans believe that Dowell would only have been let go, if Koeman had another signing coming in.

Everton have been chasing Sigurdsson for much of the summer so far, but his price-tag has proved difficult to reach.

The Toffees have seen a series of bids turned down by Swansea City, who will not budge from their £50 million valuation of the Icelandic international, according to the Independent.

If Sigurdsson did move to Goodison Park, he would significantly strengthen Everton’s attacking options for the upcoming campaign.
