The club confirmed last night Tshibola has been sent on a season long loan to League One side MK Dons after failing to convince Steve Bruce he should be part of his first team plans.
Villa paid £4 million to sign Tshibola from Reading last summer when Roberto di Matteo was manager.
He struggled to make an impact early on, and he was discarded by Bruce when the experienced manager took over, managing only eight appearances.
Tshibola was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest for the second half of the season but failed to win a place in the side, playing just four games.
The 22-year-old has now dropped down a division to get his career back on track.
Villa should pay close attention to how he gets on in League One, and hope the midfielder returns next season with his confidence restored.
Fans though are sceptical about whether he will ever make a first team appearance for the club again despite his contract running until 2020, and wondering if this is just the first step towards a permanent exit.
Here is a look at the reaction to his loan move...
Tshibola has the same magic skill as Jordan Veretout - the ability to convince fans he's great without doing anything of note, ever. #avfc— Villa Views (@ViewsVilla) July 27, 2017
I'll be surprised if we ever see Tshibola in a Villa shirt again #AVFC— Luke (@_LukeMoo26) July 27, 2017
Tshibola: Glad we haven't sold him, feel he can still have future at #AVFC. Hopefully impresses on loan & puts himself back into plans here.— Jake (@JakeWelch_88) July 27, 2017
