Arsenal eased to a win over non-league Boreham Wood last night with three young strikers vying to catch attention.
Stephy Mavididi, Eddie Nketiah and Chuba Akpom were all in action and contributed towards the 4-0 win.
Akpom and Jon Toral grabbed a goal each, with Mavididi netting twice.
Mavididi has been scoring goals at a prolific rate for more than three years now and he faces a huge season ahead.
A year ago he was regarded as the club's most promising striking talent, but this label has come under pressure over the past year from the outstanding Nketiah and Donyell Malen.
The Gunners are blessed to have so many young strikers, but as Chuba Akpom's struggles have shown in the past few seasons, making the step up is not easy.
Mavididi had his first loan spell at the end of last season at Charlton and impressed fans with his early appearances before a hamstring injury saw him sent back to the Gunners.
The Bolton News reported Bolton are keen on signing him on loan this season and they are not the only Championship side taking interest.
A couple of goals against a non-league opposition is a welcome confidence boost for the 19-year-old as he recovers from injury.
Fans have high hopes for the teenager and if he wants to make it to the first team, this season he needs to make a big impression out on loan.
There are those who even want him into the first team right away. Here is a look at fan reaction to his latest performance...
Why was Mavididi not included on our tour... Pure class together with Toral— Thomas Lemar (@SamAfc254) July 27, 2017
Stephy Mavididi. He better than Eddie Nketiah in my opinion.— Blank (@chaxethemoney) July 27, 2017
It's quite bizarre that Arsene thinks Olivier Giroud is better than Stephy Mavididi— WG (@GrantAFC80) July 27, 2017
Mavididi so effective playing behind the striker. Powerful, skilful and clinical.— Jeorge Bird (@jeorgebird) July 27, 2017
