Could a swap deal work for both Tottenham Hotspur and Nice.
Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly impressed with Seri's versatility, and believes he could be a valuable addition to the squad.
Nice midfielder Jean Seri in action
Last season Seri scored seven goals and provided nine assists.
RMC Sport reported in June that Tottenham had held initial talks with Seri's representatives. Yet with the midfielder having a £35 million release clause in his contract, the two clubs are far apart in their valuations.
Tottenham's Moussa Sissoko on the bench
Moussa Sissoko has not been much use at Tottenham since his big money move from Newcastle United last summer, but they should consider him for a vital role in signing Seri.
They should offer Sissoko in part exchange for Seri, a deal Nice may not be able to refuse.
Sissoko's versatility would provide Nice with a ready made replacement, and offer the midfielder the stage to boost his World Cup ambitions.
Nice finished in third place last season, and Sissoko would be joining a team on the up.
They also have a good track record in 'rehabilitating' fallen Premier League stars.
Hatem Ben Arfa got his career back on track at the club, while Mario Balotelli has re-discovered his form after joining the club following his Liverpool exit last summer.
Nice might just be the best destination for Sissoko, and Tottenham would be sensible to use him to knock money off a potential deal to sign a player they are keen on signing, who Pochettino believes could be a very useful option.
