Everton have joined the race to sign Swiss youngster Jon Bamert.
Bamert is a highly talented defender who plays for Grasshopper Club Zurich. He made his senior debut aged just 17, and has caught the attention of scouts of top European clubs across the world.
This Swiss under-19 international is primarily a central defender, but he is equally comfortable playing as a right back and also as a left back.

A host of European clubs including Benfica, Villarreal, Torino, and Rennes are interested in signing the young defender, who would cost around £1.6 million.
Everton have made some exciting and big money signings this summer, but the club have shown great commitment towards signing top young talents as well.
For instance, earlier this week, reports emerged that Everton may have snapped up exciting striker Josua Zirkzee from Feyenoord.
Bamert could be a fine addition to the Everton squad, but the club probably see him as a player for the future.
