Nottingham Forest's Alex Iacovitti
Nottingham Forest defender Alex Iacovitti is a target for Forest Green and Notts County, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
League Two new boys Forest Green are keen on signing Iacovitti either on a permanent basis or on loan and have tabled two bids to Forest.
Forest's city rivals Notts County have also asked about taking versatile defender Iacovitti on loan as Magpies boss Kevin Nolan looks to bolster his defensive options.
Forest have yet to respond to the offers from either Forest Green or Notts County and it has left the clubs and the player in limbo.
Iacovitti, who has come through the ranks at Forest, made his senior debut on the opening day of last season in a 4-3 win over Burton Albion and he kept his place in the side for the following game against Brighton.
However, he joined League Two Mansfield Town on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day in search of regular first-team football.
Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton
Iacovitti made eight appearances for Mansfield, but a change of manager saw the Scotland youth international drop down the pecking order at Field Mill and his loan deal was short in December and he returned to Forest.
Iacovitti never figured for Forest upon his return to the City Ground and it remains to be seen if he is part of Mark Warburton's plans for next season.
The 19-year-old impressed for Scotland at this summer's Toulon Tournament and Forest Green and Notts County are keen to sign him if he is not going to figure at Forest next season.
