Should Leeds United chase Anthony Stokes? Some fans think so.
Former Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers striker Anthony Stokes is available on a free transfer this summer - and some Leeds United fans want him at Elland Road.
The 28-year-old was released by Rovers with two years left to go on his contract with the Ewood Park club, having only joined from Celtic last summer.
Hibernian boss Neil Lennon confirmed to The Record that the Scottish Premiership outfit had offered him a role at Easter Road next season.
But some Leeds fans debated on Twitter whether their club should snap him up this summer.
Stokes would be a good backup mate— Adam Brown (@adambrown1992) July 21, 2017
Stokes is a prolific goalscorer in Scotland, having netted 58 times in 135 Premiership appearances for Celtic, but his record down South is poor and Leeds should stay away.
The Republic of Ireland international, who has nine caps to his name, has only netted five goals in English football, having also represented Sunderland and Crystal Palace.
Leeds might need a back-up to Chris Wood - who scored 30 goals last season - but Stoke isn't the answer.
