According to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol, the Magpies will make a late offer for Osmanlispor midfielder Badou N'Diaye, in an attempt to hijack the Hammers' move for the 26-year-old, as reported via his official Twitter account.
The Senegal international racked up six goals and two assists in 26 Super Lig outings for his club last term, and his fine form did not go unnoticed.
West Ham have been monitoring his situation all summer long, and have lined up an £8.5 million bid to secure his services, according to the Mirror.
Osmanlispor's Papa Ndiaye in action
Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol claimed today, via his official Twitter account, that Newcastle are set to gatecrash the party, however, and pip West Ham to N'Diaye's signature at the last minute.
Newcastle are believed to be in the market for a powerful box-to-box midfielder, and N'Diaye fits the bill perfectly.
The 26-year-old possesses all of the attributes needed to be a success in the Premier League. He is powerful and tenacious in the tackle, highly energetic, and has wonderful stamina levels.
And if Newcastle do in fact manage to beat West Ham to his signature, it could turn out to be a real coup for Rafa's men.
