The German side are said to have joined Everton in taking an interest in the Sheffield United talent.

Bundesliga runners-up RB Leipzig are monitoring Sheffield United attacking midfielder David Brooks, according to The Daily Mail.

Brooks is said to have impressed Leipzig scouts during this summer’s Toulon Tournament, which the 20-year-old helped England to win and was subsequently named the competition’s best player.

The report does not state whether Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side intend to follow up their interest, though with Champions League football on offer in Saxony, Brooks is sure to be intrigued by any approach.

Brooks was due to spend the coming campaign at Sheffield United’s local rivals, Chesterfield, but the Blades pulled the plug after the youngster’s displays in southern France.

Manager Chris Wilder has since handed Brooks a chance to impress during pre-season, and his displays appear to have put him in contention for a first team place at Bramall Lane.

Everton are also said to be interested in Brooks, whom Toffees scout and former Sheffield United defender Jamie Hoyland spoke highly of in an interview with Sheffield Live TV earlier this summer.

A number of Football League talents have flocked to Everton over the past 12 months, including ex-Blades youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Can Sheffield United keep hold of Brooks amid interest from Leipzig and Everton?
