Newcastle United have made three signings so far this summer.

According to the Northern Echo, Diego Rolan has made two visits to Fulham’s training ground, but has not agreed a deal with the Championship club as he wants to move to Newcastle United.

Newcastle have held an interest in the Uruguayan international, and the striker knows about Rafael Benitez’s admiration for him.

Rolan is now said to be taking a chance, and waiting for Newcastle to make a bid, as the lure of playing in the Premier League has excited him.

It seems that the 24-year-old may well get his wish of a move to St. James’ Park, as Benitez now wants Newcastle to make their move.

The Spanish boss is eager for his side to snap up the Bordeaux forward in the coming days.

Rolan scored nine goals in Ligue 1 last season, and there is a hope that he could improve Newcastle’s striking options.

Benitez’s men have already made three new additions this summer, with Christian Atsu, Florian Lejeune and, most recently, Jacob Murphy signing up - but there is a realisation that more quality is needed.

And Rolan is believed to be the next new signing Benitez is planning, as he looks to improve his Newcastle squad.
