Barkley, 23, has come up through the ranks at Goodison Park, and has been one of the club's major success stories from their academy having made almost 200 appearances for the Toffees.

Last term, the England international hit five goals and eight assists in 36 Premier League games, and whilst he continued to show promise under Ronald Koeman, speculation surrounds his future on Merseyside.
Barkley's contract expires next summer, and with Everton no doubt fearing that the playmaker will leave for nothing in 2018, many expect him to move on this summer.
The club most strongly linked with a move to sign Barkley this summer is Tottenham Hotspur, and the London Evening Standard note that he was initially reluctant to make the move to London in order to join Spurs.
However, it's now believed that Barkley has spoken to Spurs stars Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Kane and Danny Rose about manager Mauricio Pochettino, and their feedback has convinced him that a move to North London could be beneficial.

Barkley may now be interested in a move to Spurs, but whether Pochettino's men follow through with their interest in the midfielder remains to be seen.
With just a year left on his contract with Everton, Tottenham won't want to pay a huge fee for Barkley, and it may take weeks of posturing and negotiations to secure a deal – but don't be surprised to see Barkley eventually join Spurs this summer, if reports are to be believed.
