Predicting Arsenal's strongest side if Wenger gets what he wants this summer

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger

Arsenal have gone about their transfer business quietly and effectively but could there be one more mega signing to come?

Arsenal fans may have been forgiven for panicking when free signing Sead Kolasinac was the Gunners' only new addition while Everton showed how it was done with a string of canny additions earlier this summer, but the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette has changed everything.

That is not to say Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is done when it comes to his transfer business, with the Sun suggesting he is still very much interested in bringing Monaco winger Thomas Lemar to the club if he can negotiate a fee with the French champions.

Alexis Sanchez's contract situation also continues to raise problems, because whatever Wenger says in public, the club will be loath to lose the Chilean international for free next summer when they could command a sizable fee now.

Arsenal may not be in the Champions League next season but they have the players at their disposal to ensure their absence is brief, while they will be hoping to take a leaf out of Manchester United's book and win the Europa League while hoping to add to their domestic trophy haul.

Arsenal will have seen Everton's impressive summer haul and understood the important of keeping the Toffees at bay, especially when you consider Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool are all going to be stronger next season.

It is a tough year for the Gunners but if they bring in Lemar and stay injury free, they could have quite the first--choice starting line-up.
