A number of Championship clubs are keen on signing highly-rated Everton youngster Liam Walsh on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Walsh has come through the ranks at Everton and is highly-regarded within the corridors of power at Goodison Park.

The skilful midfielder has yet to make his first-team debut for Everton, but he impressed for the club’s Under-23s as he played a vital role in helping them win the Premier League 2 title.

Walsh Premier League 2 Player of the Month in February 2017 and he was shortlisted for the league’s Player of the Year award.

The England Under-18 international enjoyed a spell out on loan at Yeovil in League Two in 2016, playing 17 games and scoring one goal during his time with the Glovers.

Everton feel another loan move next season is the next stage in Walsh’s development before he can come back and challenge for a place in Ronald Koeman’s first-team plans.

Several Championship sides have made enquiries to Everton for Walsh and the club are now assessing their options to see where is the best place for Walsh to go and play next season.
