Former Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United winger Trevor Sinclair suggested on BBC Sport’s Facebook live (July 14, 2017) that Eric Dier would progress if he makes the switch from Tottenham Hotspur to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Dier is one of the best young players in the Premier League and is a key player for North London outfit Tottenham.
The England international has established himself as one of the most versatile footballers in England and has made huge progress under Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino over the past three years.
The 23-year-old, who can operate as a defender or as a defensive midfielder, has been linked with a move from Spurs to Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Former Manchester City winger Sinclair has suggested that Dier would progress if he moves to Jose Mourinho’s side, as he would be learning from Michael Carrick.
Carrick may be 35 years of age, but the England international remains one of the best central midfielder in the Premier League and has also operated as a centre-back.
“To bring somebody in like Dier, an understudy that can learn from Michael, I think it's a great progression for the boy if he does make that move,” Sinclair said on BBC Sport’s Facebook live (July 14, 2017).
