Leeds United need a new centre-back and there is one they should be doing everything they can to sign.
With former Leeds United loanee Kyle Bartley returning to Swansea City this summer, the Whites are in desperate need of a new quality centre-back to partner Pontus Jansson next season.
As a result, Leeds have been linked with a summer swoop for Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Danny Batth, with the print edition of the Sunday Mirror (09/07/2017 page 61) claiming Thomas Christiansen wants to bring the 26-year-old to Elland Road for around £2million.
However, if the new Leeds boss wants to make a real statement, significantly strengthening his back line in the process, he should be going all out for Bristol City's Aden Flint.
A recent report from the Daily Mail claimed City will listen to offers for the 28-year-old this summer, and while he is valued in the region of £4million, it would be money very well spent.
The report claims the likes of Derby County, Middlesbrough and Fulham are all interested in Flint, but Leeds would be mad not to join the race.
A centre-back pairing of Jansson and Flint would be outstanding and when you consider the attacking options Leeds are bringing in this summer, they could soon have the squad ready to mount a serious title tilt.
Flint may be a wanted man this month, but Leeds are a huge club and it is time their transfer targets reflected that.
