Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers recently suffered a humiliating defeat in the Europa League qualifiers.

Celtic and Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has written in The Sunday Post (print edition, page 83, July 9, 2017) that Rangers cannot take their fans for granted.

Rangers are going through a tough time at the moment, as they have been knocked out of the Europa League qualifiers.

One would have expected Pedro Caixinha’s side to get the better of Luxembourg minnows Progres Niederkorn in the Europa League first qualifying round.

Although Rangers won the first leg 1-0 at Ibrox last month, they suffered a 2-0 defeat in the second leg away from home earlier this month and got knocked out.

With Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic going strong as ever and once again favourites to win the Scottish Premiership title, the Ibrox outfit need to up their game in order to challenge their Old Firm rivals next season.

Former Celtic forward and manager Dalglish has warned Rangers against taking their fans for granted after pointing out that the backing of the supporters is a real positive for the club.

“The real positive they have is the fantastic backing from their supporters - but they can’t continue to keep taking them for granted,” Dalglish wrote about Rangers in The Sunday Post (print edition, page 83, July 9, 2017).
