Tottenham Hotspur are still said to be keen on Adrien Silva
Tottenham Hotspur are pushing ahead with plans to try and sign Adrien Silva.
Portuguese outlet Sapo Desporto report, citing O Jogo's print edition, that Tottenham are to send representatives to meet with both Sporting Lisbon and the player.
It is claimed Tottenham are aware of Sporting's 30 million Euro asking price (£26.5m) and will aim to come to terms over an agreement which will see them meet that price with incentives.
Silva is not in Sporting's squad which leaves this week on a pre-season trip to Switzeland, O Jogo report, due to his recent Confederations Cup involvement with Portugal.
The Sporting Lisbon captain has been linked with Tottenham since last summer and his arrival would complicate the competition for places in the club's midfield.
The 28-year-old scored five goals last season from midfield and provided three assists.
Tottenham are yet to make any signings so far this summer, and by adding Silva they would be acquiring a player who has proven himself a winner in Portugal, winning the domestic cup twice and also helping his country win Euro 2016.
