Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich would take Tottenham to another level

The talented midfielder would be a tremendous signing for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Despite Spurs' fine campaign last season, it is quite clear that Mauricio Pochettino needs to sign one or even two top tier players, if he is to guide his side to success on all fronts next term.

Worryingly for Tottenham fans, the only real transfer talk so far this summer has centred around potential outgoings, with Kyle Walker and Moussa Sissoko the most noteworthy players who have been linked with an exit from the club.

The Lilywhites expect in the region of £50 million for Walker, according to the Independent, and could receive up to £22 million for Sissoko's serves, according to French media outlet Le JDD.

If the north London outfit do eventually sell the want-away pair, they will be heavily armed with cash, with which Pochetitno would be under pressure to spend.

And Spurs could make a real splash in the market by making a bold move for Bayern Munich's versatile young star Joshua Kimmich.

The 22-year-old has already proven himself to be an elite player during his fledgling career, and his addition to the already strong Tottenham squad might just take them to another level.

He is remarkably versatile in the fact that he can play in a number of different positions, including right-back, centre-back and all across the midfield - something that would greatly appeal to Pochettino, what with the emphasis he places on the ability to be tactically flexible during matches.

Whilst it may seem like a long-shot for the Lilywhites to poach a player from Bayern, Kimmich's peripheral role within the team, because of the world-class competition at the Allianz Arena, could mean that Carlo Ancelotti is tempted to sell, should a reasonable offer be made for his services.

And if there is any opportunity whatsoever for Spurs to bring the Germany international to north London, they should make a move without hesitation.
