West Ham United are keen to upgrade their front line, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez their top target.

According to a report on Bleacher Report, West Ham United are interested in signing Javier Hernandez – but he is demanding £140,000-a-week wages.

Hernandez is set to move on from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, and he could be available at a relatively cheap price.

West Ham are eager to bring the former Manchester United man to the London Stadium.

However, Hernandez’s wage demands are said to be causing a complication.

Hernandez wants a Premier League move, but is eager to maximise his earnings.

If West Ham were to cave to Hernandez’s demands it would make him their top earner by a considerable distance.

The Hammers are desperate to bring in a new forward this summer, as their current options up-front have proven unreliable.

Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho have struggled to stay off the treatment table, while Ashley Fletcher is unproven at Premier League level.
