Both Leicester City and Manchester City could benefit form swapping the two players.

Citizens boss Pep Guardiola has been accused of being too one-dimensional throughout his coaching career, and it seems as though a plan B that he could call upon will be needed this season, if he is to guide his side to glory on all fronts.

With this in mind, the addition of a pacey forward, with a tenacious playing style could be just what the Spaniard needs to take his club to another level, and an interesting option for him could be Foxes hitman Jamie Vardy.

Whilst it seems a long-shot on the face of it, the 30-year-old’s aggressive, energetic style would actually suit Pep’s high intensity pressing game, and he could be a real hit at the Etihad.

The east Midlands outfit would surely be against the idea of selling the England international, but they could be tempted if City offered them the services of Wilfried Bony in return.

Claudio Ranieri’s last act in the transfer market as Leicester manager coincided with him bringing in a whole host of attacking talent in the summer of 2016, including the likes of Ahmed Musa and Islam Slimani.

Neither of them proved to be a success at the King Power Stadium, and the Italian’s questionable transfer business was arguably one of the main contributing factors behind him losing his job at Leicester.

Craig Shakespeare is now trying to assemble a squad that can once again challenge awards the upper echelons of the Premier League table, and in order to do that he might just have to bring in another proven striker, and the Ivory Coast international could be just the man for the job.

Losing Vardy would be a better pill to swallow, but the Foxes became too predictable to play against last term with the 30-year-old in the side, and a change of personnel and playing style could help them improve this season.

And if an agreement regarding a swap deal involving the two players can be reached by both clubs, it could turn out to be hugely beneficial for all parties concerned.
