According to a recent report from the Chronicle, Montpellier are interested in signing Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul this summer. And while some Magpies fans may be disappointed at the prospect of Krul going, perhaps the club should look at the interest as an opportunity to potentially land one of their own targets.
The Daily Mirror reported back in May that Newcastle were one of the sides interested in signing Montpellier winger Ryad Boudebouz, who looks destined to leave the Ligue 1 outfit this summer.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a brilliant year in France, scoring 11 times and contributing nine assists in the top flight, and that kind of form would surely make him a major asset to Rafa Benitez's side if they were able to make a deal happen.
Though Krul had been a good stopper for the side before he sustained his long-term injury a couple of years ago, it would perhaps be fair to suggest that using him as part of the deal that would bring Boudebouz to St James' Park could prove to be a smart piece of business from the Magpies.
Unfortunately for the Dutchman, Newcastle do not appear to have missed him too much since his last first-team appearance for the club, so including him in the deal for the winger may be beneficial for all parties.
And if it helps Newcastle win the race for his signature, it is surely an option that the Magpies should consider taking as, if Boudebouz is capable of replicating the form he has shown in France this past year, Benitez's men could be on the verge of a transfer masterstroke.
