Newcastle United are interested in signing Romulo from Hellas Verona in the summer transfer window, according to Hellasnews.it.
It has been reported that Newcastle are ready to make an offer for the 30-year-old, who can operate as a midfielder or as a right-back, and that negotiations could start soon.
The former Fiorentina midfielder has been on the books of Verona since 2014 and has a contract with the Italian club until June 2019, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The 30-year-old played the 2014-15 campaign on loan at Italian giants Juventus, winning Serie A and the Coppa Italia in the process.
Romulo is a good and versatile player who would be a good signing for Newcastle, especially if the price is not too high.
Rafael Benitez’s side will feature in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
