FC Twente have wasted no time in signing a replacement for Mateusz Klich, who has joined Leeds United.

Earlier today, Championship outfit Leeds completed the signing of Klich from Dutch club Twente. The 27-year-old central midfielder is new Leeds head coach Thomas Christiansen’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Eredivisie side Twente have signed a replacement for Klich by moving for Haris Vuckic. As announced on Newcastle United’s official website, Vuckic is leaving the Magpies on a free transfer at the end of the season and has signed a three-year contract with Twente.

Vuckic had been at Newcastle since 2009, but the 24-year-old attacking midfielder failed to make an impact at St. James’ Park.

The Slovenia international played on loan for a number of clubs including Rangers, Wigan Athletic and Bradford City.

Twente finished seventh in the Eredivisie last season, while Leeds narrowly failed to end up in the top six of the Championship during the 2017-18 campaign.
