Everton fans are urging their club to sign Ben Chilwell, after the Leicester City left back impressed again for the England Under-21s.
Aidy Boothroyd’s side beat Poland 3-0 at the Euro Under-21 Championship, with Chilwell providing the assist for clubmate Demarai Gray to open the scoring six minutes in.
Gray added a second for the Three Lions, before Lewis Baker’s penalty confirmed their place as Group A winners.
With Everton’s Mason Holgate and new record signing Jordan Pickford both in action, Toffees fans were keen observers.
And they were particularly impressed by Chilwell, who many feel is the man to eventually succeed Leighton Baines at Goodison Park, with the boyhood Blue turning 33 later this year.
Everton’s Leighton Baines
Everton have recruited an army of young English talent over the past 12 months, and Steve Walsh’s connections – having previously worked as Leicester’s head of recruitment – could mean a move for 20-year-old is possible.
The following Toffees fans certainly hope so…
