According to a report in the Liverpool Echo, Everton are about to complete a deal for Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez in the near future - and Tottenham Hotspur may regret not rivalling Ronald Koeman’s side for the young Spaniard.
Sandro is set to cost Everton just over £5 million, due to a clause in his contract, and that could make him one of the bargains of the summer.
The 21-year-old striker looks to be a hugely exciting talent, and he could develop into a real star at Everton.
Sandro netted 16 goals for Malaga in 31 goals last season, and he has played a starring role for Spain’s under-21 at the European Championships, which are currently taking place.
And, with Spurs looking for a new striker, it is hard to believe that they could find a better deal than what Everton have with Sandro.
Tottenham have had a brilliant track record of developing young players in recent times, and Sandro could have thrived with the Lilywhites.
Spurs need a striker who can prove to be reliable cover for Harry Kane, and they are still scouring the market to assess their options. It seems that Sandro would have been a good one, but Everton have acted quickly to seal a very impressive deal.
Of course, it is questionable whether Sandro would have picked Spurs over Everton, had Mauricio Pochettino’s side made a bid, but the North London club may regret not at least trying to sign the talented youngster, if he goes on to fulfil his potential at Goodison Park.
