A number of Scottish Premiership and English League One clubs are weighing up a move for Inverness Caledonian Thistle defender Louis Laing, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Laing's contract at Inverness expires this summer after he only signed a short-term deal upon his arrival in the Highlands in February on a free transfer.

Inverness are keen to keep hold of Laing, but a number of clubs are ready to sign the centre-back on a free transfer.

Laing made 14 appearances for Inverness after joining from Motherwell, but he was unable to help them avoid relegation from the Scottish Premiership.

However, the former Sunderland man impressed enough during his stint with Inverness to alert a couple of Premiership sides.

Several League One clubs in England have also expressed an interest in Laing, while there has also been foreign interest in the former England youth international.

Laing is now considering the options open to him and the defender is keen to resolve his future by the end of the month as he wants to know where he will be playing in time for pre-season training.
