Sturridge was pleased to see Redmond turn on the style for the England Under-21 side against their Slovakian counterparts on Monday.

The win against Slovakia means that Aidy Boothroyd's side are one win away from a place in the semi-finals of the prestigious competition.

Over the course of the 90 minutes on Monday, the Slovakia U21 side had 52% of the possession, took 10 shots of which three were on target, and earned four corners, according to BBC Sport.
The England U21 team had 48% of the possession, took 13 shots of which eight were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.
