What should Celtic do in the summer transfer window?
Celtic enjoyed a hugely successful season in 2016-17, winning the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup.
The Glasgow giants also progressed to the group stage of the Champions League last season and played some wonderful football.
Brendan Rodgers’s side will be aiming to feature in the Champions League yet again this campaign, as well clinch the domestic treble.
Al Sadd midfielder Xavi, who won La Liga eight times and the Champions League on four occasions with Barcelona, has advice for Celtic regarding signing players in the summer transfer window.
The 2010 World Cup winner with Spain believes that the Hoops need to sign players who have experienced Champions League football before in order to make a big impact in Europe’s premier club competition.
“If they want to go up a level in the Champions League they must also look to add some quality,” Xavi told The Daily Record about Celtic.
“Even if it is a loan player from one of the big clubs in England – it’s important they have players who have experience of playing at the highest level.”
Celtic’s long-term ambition should be to progress to the knockout rounds of the Champions League, but for now, the Bhoys should be happy with a place in the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition.
