Huddersfield Town are in negotiations with Chelsea to sign the attacking midfielder on a permanent deal for £8 million.
However, the Telegraph suggest that Chelsea may have some doubts over letting the England youth international leave on a permanent transfer.
Brown is very highly regarded by the Blues, and a loan deal could be favourable for Antonio Conte’s side.
If that is the case, then Sheffield Wednesday should chance their arm at signing Brown.
Brown has already proven his capabilities at Championship level, and would surely be a brilliant addition for any second-tier club to make this summer.
Wednesday are desperate to achieve promotion next season - after coming so close this time around.
And if Huddersfield are unable to agree a deal for Brown, then the Owls should be waiting in the wings to offer the 20-year-old a chance to move to Hillsborough next season.
