Wolverhampton Wanderers are keeping tabs on Portuguese striker Alexandre Guedes, according to a report from the Express and Star.

They report that the talented 23-year-old is on the radar of new Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo and that a move could be forthcoming.

Guedes is a former Portugal under-20 international who came through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon before joining current club Aves in 2015.

Last season he put in an impressive season for the club. He scored 13 goals for the club as they won promotion back to Portugal’s top flight and looks to be finally fulfilling his talent.

A move for the player would not be easy. He signed a new deal at Aves at the end of May which runs until 2020, so the club will not be willing to simply let him go on the cheap.

Wolves have striking options already but another goal threat is needed if they are to push up the Championship table under Nuno.

Guedes might just be the player he needs to make himself immediately popular with the fans at the Molineux.
