According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf (Press Reader), Celtic are in the race to sign PSV Eindhoven full back Joshua Brenet – but face huge competition for his signature.
The Bhoys may have obliterated the competition in Scottish football last season by going through the entire domestic campaign without losing a game, ending the season with a treble, but manager Brendan Rodgers will still want reinforcements.

Another Champions League qualification campaign is on the horizon, and if the Bhoys are to reach the group stage again and harbour ambitions of going further, Rodgers will want new faces.
Now, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf (Press Reader) report that Celtic are one of a number of teams interested in snapping up PSV Eindhoven defender Joshua Brenet this summer.

Brenet, 23, has made his way up through the ranks with PSV having joined as a teenager, and he now has over 100 appearances to his name for the club, whilst he even has two caps for the Netherlands national team.
A versatile defender who can play at right back or left back, Brenet possesses blistering pace, but has often found himself behind Santiago Arias and Jetro Willems in the PSV pecking order.

Celtic could now look to swoop given question marks over Cristian Gamboa's long-term future with the club, whilst he could even be lined up as a potential replacement for Kieran Tierney on the left, should the youngster move on this summer.
However, the report also notes that Udinese, Fiorentina, Koln, Eintracht Frankfurt and even Watford are also interested in signing Brenet, meaning that Celtic will have to move quickly if they want to tie up the defender's signature this summer.
