Leeds United fans hoping Garry Monk overpays to bring Liam Bridcutt to Middlesbrough

Elland Road

Middlesbrough are said to be interested in signing Liam Bridcutt from Leeds United this summer.

Some Leeds United fans appear to be hoping that Garry Monk’s Middlesbrough side follow through with their interest in Liam Bridcutt.

The Sun have suggested that Monk wants to bring Bridcutt to the Riverside Stadium for a reunion.

Monk and Bridcutt had a good relationship at Leeds, with the central midfielder a key part of the 38-year-old manager’s plans.

However, a section of Leeds’ support do not feel that Bridcutt was particularly pivotal last term.

Although the former Sunderland man generally started for the Whites, some Leeds fans feel he was out of form.

And many have expressed the opinion that if Monk makes a sizeable bid, then Leeds should sell up.

Whether Bridcutt is to play a part in Thomas Christiansen’s plans at Elland Road remains to be seen.

Christiansen only took charge of his first press conference earlier today, with the former Barcelona man still putting his ideas in place at Elland Road.

Bridcutt made 25 appearances for Leeds last term, creating two assists.
